FRANKFURT MESSE, GERMANY — To maximize their experience in the Ambiente Consumer Goods Trade Fair, the largest and leading international trade fair in Germany, 9 representatives from the Cagayan Valley, composed of MSMEs, select Local Government Units (LGUs), and DTI officials, have gained access and exposure to the prominent European designs and creative markets and an understanding of a potentially viable trade and business exploration through the DTI-Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) Learning Tour held at Frankfurt Messe, Germany, on February 6–7, 2023.
Geared to become competitive global players and to strengthen the export industry in Cagayan Valley, the 2-day learning tour was aimed to serve as a learning ground for what is current in the market and to provide different market sensing activities within the Ambiente and the showrooms, museums, galleries, and factories within Frankfurt.
During the learning tour, the delegates witnessed trendy and classic pieces from different global and local brands and the latest models from the current collections of some world-renowned luxury brands from Europe’s top designers. They also visited the leading online furniture stores in Germany, design hubs showcasing European history through art and premium home collections, exclusive and upholstered decorative items for home accessories and furniture, and a glimpse of a curated selection of both established and up-and-coming brands.
Among the top spots visited were Home24, Leptien3, H&M Home, Design House Stockholm, Butlers, Ikarus, Museum Angewandte Kunst, Vitra, Smow, Who’s Perfect, Morgen Interiors, Manufactum, and Depot.
As part of the Philippine delegation, the select representatives from region 2 are: Fundacion Pacita and Cafe du Tukon from Batanes, and the H.A.R.D.I.N. Art Studio from Nueva Vizcaya; representatives from the LGU Buguey, LGU Maddela, PLGU Nueva Vizcaya, Provincial Government of Quirino; Quirino Mamparang Lion’s Club; and PCCI Quirino Chapter; and they were joined by DTI R2 Assistant Regional Director Winston T. Singun and DTI Regional Trade and Promotions Head STIDS Desiree Angolluan. *
