Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 urges the public to buy fireworks and firecrackers with Philippine Standard (PS) marks to guarantee safety and quality.
The agency regulates the manufacture and sale of fireworks to protect consumers from the hazards posed by the products.
Through the Bureau of Philippine Standards, DTI has issued PS licenses to 14 manufacturers with their own brands: Dragon Fireworks, Diamond, LF Fireworks, Pegasus, Phoenix, Double L, Nation, LLF, Andy’s Fireworks, Pyro Kreations, Yangco Fireworks, Star Light, A. Santiago Fireworks, and 4SURE Fireworks.
Aside from the PS mark with license number, the agency encourages the public to look for additional information in the packaging of the product which include name of firework, classification and intended use, brand or trade name, name and address of the manufacturer, the words “Made in the Philippines”, warning and precautionary signs, appropriate instructions for use, and effects.
